Lakeside Park is located 10 minutes from St.
Louis, Missouri in Granite City,
Illinois. It was constructed in 1988 by the members of the
Lakeside Kings. The park is fully equipped with all
the features of a big league park including lights, bleacher seating, upper deck,
PA system, concession stand and yes, even luxury boxes.
"The wind always blows out at Lakeside Park"
The most unique characteristic of the Lakeside Park complex is the "reversible" field
design. King Lerxst field is a replica of Royals Stadium in Kansas City
(including the King's version of the crown scoreboard, less fountain).
Move home plate to second base and vice-versa, and you have a scaled replica of Boston's
Fenway Park. This layout allows, by King's decree, that "thy batter
shall always bat with thy wind at thy back"
